Legal representation in the courts is a fundamental right of all South Africans. Advocates are primarily experts in the art of presenting and arguing cases in court.It is the advocate's duty to use his expertise to ensure that people's freedom is in no way compromised, nor their rights denied.

Advocates

Advocates are organized into societies in the major centers in South Africa, historically known as "Bars". As the body representing the advocates' profession, the purpose of the Free State Bar is to maintain professional standards and conduct among practicing advocates, and to enforce discipline amongst its members.
